![]() ![]() Here is the qemu-system command from ps aux: I'm using virt-manager to configure and start the VM. So it appears to be some kind of issues with libvirt/qxl, but I'd be curious to know if anyone has any ideas on how to fix it. After installing the xorg packages I can just hit startx and everything works out of the box. Update: Just wanted to confirm that I just went through the process in virtualbox and had no issues whatsoever. Has anyone ever encountered this issue and been able to get a working display server on Arch KVM guests? ![]() I found this thread and tried using the lts kernel but didn’t have any luck. I’ve also added nomodeset to the grub configuration. (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration. ![]() (II) qxl(0): Offscreen Surfaces: Enabled "Default Screen Section" for depth/fbbpp 24/32 Relevant section from /var/log/Xorg.0.log: (II) qxl(0): Creating default Display subsection in Screen section Trying to start a DM like gdm or lightdm just results in endless flickering until I stop the daemon. I’ve installed the base system as well as what I believe are the necessary xorg-server packages and xf86-video-qxl, but startx just returns an error saying could not connect to server. So I’ve Googled for days and have tried everything I can think of, but I just can’t get X to start on an Arch KVM guest. ![]()
